June 1st (Day 18)

Today was a busy and event-full day. It started off with an 8 am staff meeting which went over pretty well. Afterward Jeff and I got started tabbing out a new worship song that we are introducing this week. When 10 am rolled around, the five of us interns made our way down to Starbucks where we had a creative meeting with Dan, James, and Josh (our superstar volunteer who has been getting involved in everything over the past two weeks). That lasted until about noonish and we made our way back to the office. I met with Joyce (our executive assistant) and she worked with me in making comments and giving me tips on creating and formating a manual for recording the Sunday services. I worked on that until about 2 pm, and then James showed up where we had our third meeting for the day. An hour and a half to two hours later, we each had individual meetings with James (4th meeting of the day). I worked around on some of the things that I'm supposed to get done this week and went and grabbed some Wendy's for dinner with Tyler. After eating, we made our way to The Rock, which is a church where we had the monthly leadership meeting. (Yes that was my FIFTH meeting for the day. I told you it was event-full, haha). The meeting went well and proved to be a fitting ending for a pretty productive day planning-wise with the occasional to-do task being able to be checked off. Tomorrow's my day off so I'm probably going to go for a 2 mile run in the morning and then get busy on finishing up some homework for class (some of which is due this week, some not due till the 30th but I want to get it done so I can get more things done at church). I laughed A LOT today and I was just encouraged even more to be working with the crew that I am. I'm glad that I listened to God on this one, stepped out on faith, and came to Cleveland for this summer. I feel like I'm making an impact on the people of this city and at the same time learning more about ministry, learning how to do things I didn't before, and even growing closer to God. Well I guess that's all I have for you all today. Till tomorrow!
